Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, in partnership with Happy Hollow Foundation, supports critical research projects that protect and preserve wildlife and wild places around the world. Since 2015, the Happy Hollow Quarters for Conservation program has worked with dozens of individuals and organizations to further research, expand conservation impact, share knowledge and engage local communities. Applications are open for the 2024 grant cycle through Sunday, March 31.

The jaguar and red panda habitats are undergoing renovations that include replacing poles that are supporting the netting surrounding the habitats. For their safety and comfort, both the jaguar and red pandas have been moved to behind-the-scenes enclosures for the duration of the maintenance. Steve Demkowski, owner of Willow Glen Honey and resident beekeeper at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is offering beekeeping workshops throughout the year. Beekeeping & Beyond Workshops are an opportunity to learn about bees in an intimate, hands-on class setting. This is a 2-hour, hands-on workshop at Happy Hollow's on-site apiary.

In 2023, Happy Hollow awarded a total of $50,000 in grants to four conservation organizations spread across the world doing impactful work toward the conservation of macaws, African lions, highly trafficked wildlife like pangolins, and Asian elephants.
