Happy Hollow Foundation
Annual Appeal

Dear Happy Hollow Friends,

What’s your Happy Hollow memory?  Maybe you remember feeding the seal, visiting the Sun Bear (famously used as the voice of Chewbacca in the Star Wars movies), or finding the perfect garden snail to enter in the snail races.  All true stories and part of the legacy of this treasured place.  A lot has changed over the years, but one thing remains constant.  Happy memories are made at Happy Hollow.  And not just for a select few.  It’s everyone’s park & zoo, with annual visitor ship expected to reach 500,000.

So, what’s new?  Here are just a few highlights:

  • Double H Ranch - a whole new upper zoo with animal exhibits, play areas and animal contact
  • Doc’s Critter Care - a state of the art vet facility with viewing window for appropriate procedures for our young aspiring veterinarians
  • A family roller coaster - entertaining for our older child guests
  • A Redwood Forest play area - it’s like a huge tree fort!
  • All-electric Danny the Dragon - still the dragon you love, but greener than ever
  • Learning Lodge - real classroom space with complete A/V & housing for educational animals (we serve over x number of students per year)
  • The Picnic Basket - a full service restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating
  • A spacious and charming gift shop - for bringing Happy Hollow memories home
  • Keep Around Carousel - featuring endangered animals, each one available for sponsorship to capture your family’s legacy

Happy Hollow Park & Zoo has always belonged to the people of Silicon Valley, since its beginnings in 1961.  It’s built to human scale, is multi-generational and multi-culturally friendly. Grandchildren of our earliest visitors are now our guests.  All cultures understand fun and animals.   It’s why so many people say, “I LOVE HAPPY HOLLOW!” and share their happy memories with all of the board of directors, volunteers and staff.

Join me in donating today, so we can continue the growth of this premier South Bay family destination (Bay Area Parent Hall of Fame Award Recipient)
